Lack is a side table by IKEA. This prototype was commissioned to us by a client looking for a diffused lighting solution for the environment.
I modified the structure of the table by adding a luminous structure that divides the space into sectors. Each sector lights up with white LEDs. The electronics used is Arduino based.
The problem of connecting to the electricity grid has been overcome with the adoption of batteries integrated in each table. The energy charge of the battery pack ensures that the table works for 9 hours. At the end of the evening the table is recharged by connecting a power supply to the mains.
This solution allows the use of the table also in outdoor environments.
The heart of the prototype is an Attiny85.
